Pod Drive - 3D Explainer Animation

CONTEXT
To launch Pod Drive, a new all-inclusive home EV charger subscription, Pod needed a clear way to explain the service to consumers. Rather than producing a dry, presenter-led video, we pitched a friendly 3D CGI explainer for What Car? and Autocar that matched Pod’s approachable brand identity and visually unpacked the subscription model.
MY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Concepted the 3D animation idea as an alternative to a presenter-led video including sketching storyboard and defining the visual style.
- Collaborated with a copywriter to come up with a script that complemented this style of video, ensuring the words and visuals were designed together.
- Found and directed an external 3D animation studio, using my genuine interest in 3D design to deliver appropriate feedback across style frames, animatics, and final renderpasses.
